Award: One Lovely Blog (Nominated by Readerly Musings)

Back in November, Christine @ Readerly Musings nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award; I’m immensely honored and grateful, since Christine was the first book blogger I met online when I started blogging back in October, and I’m happy that she thought so much of me even though I was just starting out. Thanks again, Christine! 🙂 Now that I’ve had a few months to interact with more people in the book blogging world, I want to show my appreciation for the wonderful people I’ve met. Go visit their lovely blogs!

      • Oh yay, this is exciting. Do you like to combine your peanut butter with chocolate? Do you prefer crunchy or creamy? I AM VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT PEANUT BUTTER.

I love semicolons as well; I do hope that you’ve read “Eats, Shoots and Leaves” by Lynne Truss.

        • I’ve never combined my peanut butter with chocolate, but I want to try it now!!! Have you tried peanut butter and banana sandwiches? ♥ And I LIKE BOTH (but my creamy collection diminishes at a slightly faster rate). What about you? 🙂

And and I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t read Eats, Shoots & Leaves, but it’s been sitting on my desk right now! I was disappointed to see that only two semicolons came with the Punctuation Repair Kit…

  1. Mmm. Peanut butter. It’s been a long, long time since I have eaten it. (I shall make myself a sandwich after I write this comment.) Oh, and look I used parenthesis! (You’re welcome.) Haha, I adore fanfiction, too, though I usually only read it so I can read about my favorite pairings and imagine that they are really cannon. It’s a sad, sad thing when nearly all of your OTPs are considered fictional even in the world of fiction 😦

What sort of job are you aiming for now? It’s funny that you used to want to be an editor, because that’s what I want to be now 😛 Reading through all those books, before they are even released into the world. It’s a pretty fun fantasy. *reads nomination list* Awwwwwww! Thank you >////< This means so much to me! I think that your reviews are amazing, too, and talking to you is a blast.

Again, thanks! *goes off to make a peanut butter sandwich*

    • GASP! How long is “a long, long time”? A day? Because I would die. Seriously.

Fanfiction is so evil because you think, “There can’t possibly be fanfics about Character X and Character Y, right???” and then lo and behold some evil person decided to pair them together and O______O.

I secretly still want to be an editor, haha. But I’m a grad student in public health right now, so I’m aiming to become a professor and do research that will save the world. Or something like that. I still have five years to change my mind.

You’re welcome, Lesley! And I swear, every time I read one of your reviews, I want to buy the book you recommend immediately. 😛

      • About a month? But I saved myself from death with a perfect sandwich, so it’s all good 😀

Sometimes I don’t even understand some fanfics. Like, people think up of such weird pairings. Seriously, I’ve seen one that paired a guy character with a wooden sculpture of a bird that was in the show O_o find The human race never ceases to amaze.

Ooh, you’ll be like a hero. I can just imagine newspapers with your name in the headlines. And a picture with you in a cape– be sure to not have a duck face.

Yay! That is what I aim to do. Unless I review a book I absolutely hate one day. Then I aim to absolutely destroy it. Muhahaha!

        • I’m glad you’re alive! What a close call. And LOL, so many possibilities with that pairing! Because, you know, a wooden sculpture of a bird has a wide variety of emotions.

I’ll be sure to practice my non-duck face. :3

  2. Congrats on your award and thank you so much for passing it on! I’m also always excited to meet a fellow graduate student 🙂 In fact, if you want to chat about the ups and downs of being a grad student, feel free to message or e-mail any time. You should also check out Anya’s blog at http://www.onstarshipsanddragonwings.com/, since you like SF/F. She’s also a grad student and writes some great reviews. Congrats again on an award well deserved! 🙂

    • Thanks and you’re welcome, Katie! This is my first year as a grad student, and I’ve been so busy that I don’t think I’ve felt any ups and downs yet, haha. Everything’s been just a blur, but I’m hoping that after classes end in the summer, things will be less hectic.

I actually stalk Anya’s blog too! I’m always excited to find other grad student book bloggers, so let me know if you know of anyone else! 🙂
